Dolphins are known as being friendly, peaceful animals, which is probably why the Russian military saw them and thought "I bet we could turn them into killers." Both the Russian and Ukraine militaries have trained dolphins to help their militaries, and they're not alone. The US also has a dolphin and sea lion program, although it's trying to phase that out.
